(RTTNews) – Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. (CALM), an egg producer, on Wednesday reported a net loss for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, hurt by decreased net sales.
For the three-month period to August 29, the company posted a net loss of $58.615 million, or $1.26 per share, compared with a net profit of $199.340 million, or $4.12 per share in the same period last year. Operating loss stood at $82.165 million as against an operating profit of $249.184 million a year ago.
The company registered net sales of $539.607 million, down from $922.602 million in the previous year. The Conventional Shell Eggs segment of the company reported net sales of $201.683 million, less than $498.433 million last year.
CALM was down by 6.45% at $64.13 in the pre-market trade on the Nasdaq.
